Charcuterie board, but LOADED. The viral savory girl snack plate and #GirlDinner social media trend turned into a whole feast for me. Here's a meal idea of stuff we supposedly already have in our fridge. Some of it's good. Some of it's different. All of it's nutritious...in moderation of course!
What's Great About This Meal
It's super customizable and we love those kind of dishes over here. This means you can add or eliminate whatever foods you desire to your snack plate. This is a savory-themed meal so think of tasty bites that are salty and spicy and maybe even warm. Your plate can definitely still be nutritious...in fact, most ingredients offer some nutritional benefits. I mean, that's part of why we've got most of these items in our fridge. Right? 😂

My Recipe Ingredients
The viral savory girl snack plate has some mainstay fixings like hash browns, cucumbers, salami, Tzatziki sauce, stuffed olives, feta cheese, balsamic glaze, chili pepper oil, olive oil, and sourdough bread. But everyone has different snack foods in their fridge or pantry, so we use what we got. My version includes these tasty foods:
Tater tots
Portobello mushrooms 🍄🟫
Baby carrots 🥕
Pickled beets
Avocado 🥑
Kale 🥬
Spinach
Arugula
Hard boiled eggs 🥚
Red onion 🧅
Cucumbers 🥒
Stuffed olives 🫒
Kimchi
Sourdough bread 🍞
Banana peppers
Chili pepper oil
Olive oil
Tzatziki sauce
Hummus
Cream cheese
Burrata or mozzarella balls
Meal Instructions
The art of plating comes into effect because this is just as much as aesthetics and visuals as it is about taste. That's part of the virality and attraction, I believe.
Layer your items in sections around your plate starting from the outer edge with your large items like the hash browns if you have them or tater tots in this case. You can also start from the center of the plate by plopping down your dips -- the dips are typically placed in the middle with the food-to-be-dipped surrounding it to function as a container.
My Foodie Thoughts
I like this. It's flavorful and if you wanna get all philosophical with me...it's reflective of the person who makes the plate. What do they like? What foods do they gravitate towards? What's in their fridge and pantry? How do they arrange the items on their plate? How colorful and varied is the plate -- or not? It can be pretty revealing once you customize it to you by putting your own spin on the trend.
This snack plate gets its name from the fact that the items are things a lot of ladies tend to snack on. Lo and behold though, adding it altogether on the same plate makes for a complete meal with most of the daily nutrients we need. That's pretty cool. And it's easy to whip up.
Lemme know how this turns out for you! 😋
